The Tippecanoe County United Food Pantry, Inc., sponsored by Church Women United (CWU) of Lafayette, is currently open 2 days per week: Tuesday from 3:30 – 6, and Wednesday from 12 – 2:30pm. The pantry has been serving the community since 1972. Our partnership with CWU and Food Finders makes this possible.
Volunteers help clients shop, pack bags/boxes for clients, and help re-stock the pantry inside. The Tuesday shift is 3 hours. Volunteers need to arrive by 3:15 pm and stay until at lease 6:15 for clean up and restocking. The Wednesday shift is also 3 hours. Volunteers need to arrive by 11:30 am and stay until at least 2:45 pm for clean up and restocking.
The first Tuesday morning of each month the pantry receives a delivery of food/government commodities from Food Finders. Volunteers will help unload the truck and organize donations in the pantry. Tuesday volunteers need to be able to lift 40 pounds.
The pantry is located at 1320 Tippecanoe St in Lafayette (off of 14th Street across from Franciscan St. Elizabeth Central, a block from Budges’ Drive-In).
Volunteers should park in the Lafayette Christian Reformed Church lot at the corner of 13th and Tippecanoe Street.
